In spite of the fact that in April 2020 the country’s convention and exhibition industry was among the most affected by the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, ExpoForum International was able to quickly adapt to the new conditions.
Already in July 2020, in common with the Government of St. Petersburg and Rospotrebnadzor, developed safety standards for congress and exhibition activities. In August, the company reequipped the congress and exhibition complex in accordance with the new anti-epidemiological safety requirements. Expoforum received a QR code for the resumption of congress and exhibition activities. Obtaining a QR code with the SafeTravelsSPb sign is an official procedure for the exhibition organizations of the city, which must comply with all safety standards and promptly respond to pandemic recommendations.
ExpoForum-International has restored its activities under the new conditions. Until the end of 2020, he held more than 70 events in full-time and hybrid formats and more than 120 online projects.
In September 2020, the company received the status of a fundamental organization in St. Petersburg, and in December the status of a fundamental organization in Russia.
The winter-spring congress and exhibition season of 2021 ended with a Expoforum of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The world’s first global event with face-to-face participation of top officials of states and leaders of international companies brought together more than 13,500 participants from 141 countries. The organization of the project and the level of security were highly appreciated by visitors.
